Principal's Message

Welcome to Educational Partnership High School (EPHS) and Reid High School! I am Ty Smith, and I am honored to serve as principal of both school communities. As I begin my twenty-sixth year in Long Beach Unified School District, I continue to be grateful for the opportunity to work alongside students, families, and staff and to support our young people as they work toward their goals.

At EPHS and Reid, we understand that every student's journey is different. Our schools provide two unique pathways designed to meet students where they are and help them move forward. EPHS offers an independent study model that provides students with flexibility while maintaining academic expectations and teacher support. Reid High School offers a continuation school setting where students receive personalized support in a smaller learning environment as they work toward graduation.

While our programs may look different, our purpose is the same: we believe in our students, we believe in their potential, and we believe there is more than one pathway to success. Our staff is committed to building strong relationships, celebrating progress, providing support when challenges arise, and making sure students know they are not alone on their journey.

I look forward to partnering with our families and community to make this a year filled with growth, achievement, and new possibilities. It is a privilege to serve the students, families, and staff of EPHS and Reid High School, and I am excited about all that we will accomplish together.
